Let’s Stuff the Bus for Lincoln County Students!

It’s nearly back-to-school season, and that means it’s time to stuff the bus for Lincoln County students in need! United Way of Lincoln County has teamed up with Atrium Health, Lincoln County Schools, and Denver Pediatric Dentistry to host a Stuff the Bus campaign in which local businesses and organizations signed up to collect donated school supplies. These donations will be sorted and given out to Lincoln County children and teachers in need!

Over 30 businesses and organizations have signed up to be donation sites this year, and donations can be dropped off now through August 6. After that, donations will be organized at the Asbury and West Lincoln Resource Centers in preparation for back-to-school events.

How To Help

To help support Lincoln County children and teachers, individuals can donate supplies to any of the locations found on our Stuff the Bus page. These sites are located all across Lincoln County! Donations can also be made through our Amazon Wish List. Additionally, there are several volunteer opportunities for individuals to take part in! From sorting supplies to helping families shop at the Resource Centers, volunteers can help make sure every family is ready for the first day of school. Volunteer opportunities can be found here.

Why Stuff the Bus Matters

Hundreds of families across our community will struggle with the back-to-school season, forced into deciding between paying their power bill or buying their child the supplies needed to thrive in school. As any parent knows, the start of school is more than just buying a new book bag. It is paying for sports physicals, jeans, pencils and pens, shoes, calculators, jackets, socks, erasers, headphones, and more. When budgets are already tight, back-to-school shopping can break many families’ thin margins. Every Lincoln County child deserves the chance to start the first day of school with their head held high, ready for success, and together, we can wrap our arms around the entire community, lifting up the children, families, and teachers in need to ensure that the next generation can put their best foot forward.
