Emergency Fund
United Way of Lincoln County partners with established local programs and organizations to distribute emergency assistance where it is needed most. In these situations, individuals are in financial crises, typically because of an emergency, like an unexpected health problem, transportation issue, or external disaster, like winter storms, hurricanes, or government shutdowns.
While the immediate issue a person or family faces might be access to food or medical assistance, the byproduct of these effects is that they may struggle to afford their normal necessities, like rent or utility payments. This means that once they have dealt with the immediate needs, they are at risk of equally difficult problems, like the threat of eviction or their power being cut off.
We are dedicated to ensuring that Lincoln County makes it through community hardships without leaving anyone behind. If you are interested or able to assist your neighbors during a time of crisis, use the button below to donate toward the emergency fund. Make sure to include "emergency fund" in the notes section when prompted.
Group Efforts
For organizations or groups, such as churches or societies, looking to make a difference during crises, consider organizing how your group can help. For example, during a winter storm, your church might open as a warming station. During the holidays, your organization might want to purchase and package Thanksgiving meals or help with food distribution.
